Our Favourite Kayaking Routes at Fermanagh Lodges

Every booking at Fermanagh Lodges from April to September includes free sit on top kayaks, paddles and buoyancy aids. This activity is perfect for all ages and abilities and is a great way to explore Upper Lough Erne. Why not book a stay with us here at Fermanagh Lodges and enjoy this family friendly activity at no extra cost?
We offer a wide range of self catering accommodation options, located across two sites, less than ½ a mile apart. We have accommodation options for groups of two, four or eight people, and can accommodate groups of up to 30. Check out Cygnet Lodge, Bluebell and Blackberry Cottages, Primrose Cottage, Woodland Lodges and Tree Top Apartments for more information.

Complimentary Sit-On-Top Kayaks

With every booking at Fermanagh Lodges between April and September, sit-on-top kayaks are included in your stay at no extra charge. All of our self-catering accommodation has direct access to Upper Lough Erne, and there’s no better way to explore the lough than by paddle power.

Sit-on-top kayaking is a fun and accessible activity, perfect for all the family. Our kayaks, paddles, and buoyancy aids are available on a self-service basis, so you can head out on the water at any time during your stay—weather permitting, of course.

There’s no need for a wetsuit. Thanks to the stable design of our sit-on-top kayaks, you’re unlikely to fall in. We simply recommend wearing comfortable, older clothes, as you may get a little damp.

Most of our kayaks are doubles, meaning you can enjoy the experience with a paddling partner. If you prefer to go solo, you can sit comfortably in the centre of the kayak and paddle at your own pace.

Kayaking Safety
For your safety, children must always be accompanied by an adult while using the kayaks. We recommend checking the weather conditions before heading out and avoiding the water in strong winds or poor weather. Please bring a mobile phone in a waterproof case in case of emergency, and let someone in your group or on-site know your planned route and expected return time. Always wear the provided buoyancy aids and take care while on and around the water.

If you get into difficulty on the water call 999 and ask for the Coastguard or RNLI
