Frequently Asked Questions About Staying at Fermanagh Lodges

At Fermanagh Lodges we offer a range of self catering accommodation on the shores of Upper Lough Erne in County Fermanagh. Below you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about booking your stay, facilities, fishing boats, pet friendly accommodation and activities available during your stay.

Cygnet Lodge is perfect for a family weekend away or a gathering of friends, with its four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and beautiful outdoor kitchen, along with a private garden. Bluebell and Blackberry Cottages are ideal for large groups, with their decked balconies overlooking Upper Lough Erne. Our ever-popular Primrose Cottage is a hit with fishermen due to its proximity to the marina. The Woodland Lodges are perfect for small families or couples and are beautifully furnished throughout. Finally, our Tree Top Apartments offer privacy and are keenly priced, encouraging you to stay time and time again.

  • Booking Questions

  • How do I make a booking? 
    • We will provisionally hold your booking request for five days to allow time for you to complete our online booking form and pay a deposit or full balance.
    • If your stay is over four weeks away, a deposit of £100 is required to confirm your booking, with the remaining balance payable four weeks before your arrival date.
    • If your stay is within four weeks of your arrival date, the full balance is payable at the point of booking to confirm your stay.
    Do I have to pay a security deposit?
    • A security deposit is required alongside every booking, this is payable alongside your balance, before you come to stay. This is refundable on your departure provided the accommodation is left in a reasonable manner with no unnecessary breakages.

    What payment methods do you accept at Fermanagh Lodges? 
    • Bank transfer and Paypal are our main payment methods.
    • We can also provide you with a paypal invoice which allows you to pay by credit/debit card.
    • All bookings must be paid in full before arrival.

    We also use Airbnb and Booking.com but for the best price please contact us directly!

  • Accommodation Questions

  • What’s included in the price?
    • Our prices include your accommodation for the number of nights requested, all bed linen and towels, electricity, central heating, basket of logs for the fire, wireless internet and the lodge is equipped with basic supplies such as cling film, tin foil, bin bags, fairy liquid, salt and pepper etc.
    • From April to September all accommodation options come with complimentary sit on top kayaks, paddles and buoyancy aids.
    • You can also leave a single boat on the breakwater of our marina for the duration of your stay at no extra charge. If you require a berth or electricity there is a small charge for this.
    Is there internet access? 
    • Yes, all of our accommodation options have wireless internet connection and smart TVs. Our internet is provided by Fibrus and we are fortunate to have great speeds despite our beautiful location on the lake.
    Do you provide towels? 
    • Yes, towels and bedlinen are provided in every accommodation at Fermanagh lodges.
    Is smoking allowed? 
    • No, smoking is strictly prohibited inside the accommodation. Smoking is allowed in outdoor areas, and we ask guests to please be mindful of others when smoking and to ensure they clean up all smoke rubbish on their departure.
    Are the gardens secure? 
    • Each of our sites is secure from the main road and has gated access. While every accommodation option includes a private outdoor area and garden, they are not fully enclosed or fenced.
    • However, Bluebell and Blackberry Cottages feature large decked areas that can be enclosed.
    Is there parking available?
    • Each accommodation option has private parking for at least two cars. The Tree Top Apartments share a large parking area.

  • Where is Fermanagh Lodges located?
    • Fermanagh Lodges is located near Lisnaskea in County Fermanagh on the shores of Upper Lough Erne in Northern Ireland. The location offers easy access to Enniskillen and the Fermanagh Lakelands.
    Are Fermanagh Lodges pet friendly? 
    • Yes, all of our accommodation options are pet-friendly, and there is no extra charge for your furry friends to join you on holiday.
    • We ask that pets are house-trained and well-behaved and that they do not enter the bedrooms or go upstairs. We recommend bringing your own pet bedding and throws to protect our furniture.
    • Throughout your stay, please ensure that your pet is supervised and that you clean up after them, disposing of waste in our green wheelie bins. Upon departure, please make sure all traces of your pet are removed from the accommodation.

    We have two dogs, Dougal and Bert, who are very friendly and who you might meet during your stay!

    What time is check in and check out? 
    • Check-in is from 3pm for our Tree Top Apartments, and 4pm for all our other accommodations. All of our properties are accessible by a key box so upon arrival you can make yourself at home.
    • Check-out is by 11am.
    • Early check-in or late check-out may be possible upon request during our winter season.
    Can I have guests over during my stay? 
    • Only the number of guests listed in the booking are permitted to stay. Please contact us if you wish to have visitors.
    How do I contact you during my stay if I have a problem? 
    • You can reach us via email, or WhatsApp. Our contact details will be provided in your booking confirmation.

  • Facilities & Activities

  • Can I hire a Wood Fired Hot Tub? How much does it cost? 
    • Add a little indulgence to your holiday with our wood fired hot tub! Perfect for relaxing, enjoy an evening destressing in one of our wood fired hot tubs, which sit up to six people.
    • The hot tub will be set up outside your accommodation for your private use, a briefing will be provided on how to use the hot tub and how to keep your fire stoked up so the hot tub comes to a suitable temperature. Initial heat up takes approx. 2 hours, but once warm, the hot tub only takes approx. 30 minutes to bring back to temperature the next day so it can be used throughout your stay or over a number of days.
    • The price is £75 for the first day, and £25 for each consecutive day, each hire includes two tubs of wood and a lighter pack. More logs can be purchased from us or in the garages in our local towns.
    • Your hot tub needs to be booked 48 hours before you stay, so it can be set up for your arrival. We refill the hot tub with fresh water for every booking.
    How do I access the complimentary sit on top kayaks to go exploring on Upper Lough Erne? 
    • From April to September, all bookings in our accommodation include complimentary sit on top kayaks, paddles and buoyancy aids. Information on where the kayaks are located can be found within your accommodation.
    • These are self service and available at any time during your stay. All the equipment you need is provided. Kayaking is an activity that everyone can enjoy, regardless of age or ability, and sit on top kayaks are very easy to use.
    • We recommend you wear old clothes which you don’t mind getting wet (normally a damp bum!) and old shoes. The kayaks are a great way to explore Upper Lough Erne, or to just have a potter along the lake shore and check out the abundance of bird life. You might even be lucky enough to see our resident otter or pine martin.
    • You use this equipment at your own risk and you are responsible for any injury suffered to yourselves or others whilst in use.
    • Please do not go out in adverse weather conditions i.e. high winds, driving rain, hail stones, thunder and lightening. If you get into bother on the lake please call the RNLI or Coastguard by dialling ‘999’.
    Can I leave my boat in the Fermanagh Lodges marina during my stay?
    • Yes, guests are very welcome to leave one boat in the marina during their stay at no extra charge. Please contact us so we can advise you where best to leave it during your stay.
